I connected a while ago a Samsung Earphone jack size of 3.55 mm but it does not fully inserted i forced a little but not too much because I think it will damage the laptop. And the sound came from the speakers. My Samsung Headset is in good working condition. Can you give me a specific brand that you are using everyday for your dell inspiron 15 5000?

Same problem here.  The headphone jack won't fully insert.  How did you resolve?
