Wi-Fi Driver doesn't install [Dell Inspiron 15 3567 W8.1 64]

Hi! I have a new Dell Inspiron 3567 laptop and I can't install it's Wi-Fi Driver. Windows 8.1 here.

If I try to install it, I get this error: "Installation blocked: This software package cannot be installed on your system"

Also, if I use the tag to see which drivers it needs, the Wi-Fi one is not listed. The laptop supports wireless connection. What should I do?

OMG. I did it.

When you try to manually update a driver, you also have the option ''Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"

After that, in that list you need to look up for 'Network Adapters'

After that, you will get a list with manufacturers and drivers for specific cards. All you have to do is to look up for 'Qualcomm Atheros Communications' and 'Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565.. '

Thank you so much for your commitment, jphughan!

Just for verification, go to Device Manager and see what network card you have.  If the device appears as something like "Unknown device" or "Unknown network controller", open its Properties window, go to the Details tab, select "Hardware IDs" in the dropdown, and post the PCI VEN and DEV codes.

Also post the name of the driver file you're trying to install.

Thank you for your help and commitment. That's what I was doing now. I was browsing the internet looking for 8.1 driver version.

No, the Windows is simply 8.1 N Pro.

Ok, that is a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 WiFi card.  The problem is that the support.dell.com page for your system only includes a Windows 10 version of that driver, and the Windows 8.1 section of the Driver and Downloads area only includes an Intel driver, which is why you're stuck.  Did you switch WiFi cards or perhaps downgrade to Windows 8.1 from Windows 10?  Otherwise it could definitely be an error on the support site; it's happened before.

I'm looking around for an 8.1 driver even if it's listed under a different system, but so far I've only come up with Windows 7 and Windows 10 versions.  There is a driver that can be downloaded directly from Atheros though here if you want to try that.  Alternatively, if you have a way to connect via wired Ethernet temporarily, running Windows Update might cause your system to download a suitable driver automatically.

Fyi, unfortunately image uploads are only visible to the person who uploaded them and to Dell reps, but I just downloaded that package myself and it's a manual driver install package.  To use it, extract the contents of that zip file into a folder somewhere, then go into Device Manager, open the Properties window for your unknown network controller, click Update Driver (might need to go to the Driver tab), then choose Browse my computer and select the folder where you extracted those files.

Meanwhile, I searched on the internet what to do with them and I tried that.

But.. It didn't work.. This thing it's impossible..

'Windows was unable to install your Network Controller

Windows could not find driver software for your device[...]'

Hi, I'm trying to solve this same issue, but on "W7x64 Ultimate", do you have any idea what to do if under "Qualcomm Atheros Communications" doesn't show "Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565" it only shows "Dell Wireless 1810 802.11ac", and "Dell Wireless 1820 802.11ac"? I tried those ones but I didn't work.

Thanks in advance!
