Windows 10 Update problems - Fingerprint reader, Optane, IRST, USB
I installed the latest update of Win 10 Pro 64 bit today.
Now the fingerprint reader doesn't work, I get a message about Optane Memory failing to initialise when i boot (and the IRST icon doesn't appear in the task bar any more), and USB appears to keep resetting every 5-10 minutes even with nothing connected - I get a series of the usual USB disconnect chimes then a series of the connect ones
The only error I can find is one USB device is now "Unknown Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)
It was all fine yesterday

Yes I have 1204 installed. I wanted to avoid rolling back since we'll all have to update some day
This method solved the Optane issue, it has something to do with a change in the way the driver install works

Then uninstall each USB device showing problems through device manager, power system off and then back on (not reboot). A couple of cycles of that solved the problems with my USB-C and fingerprint reader
USB still seems to randomly connect/disconnect attached device though

Uninstall the update https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5486-uninstall-windows-update-windows-10-a.html
if you updated to Feature update 2004 roll back and try again or block that update as your hardware may not be compatible https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4097-go-back-previous-version-windows-windows-10-a.html
