Working only in adapter mode

Hi,

I have a dell inspiron 5000 series. The battery was working perfectly until a week ago and providing a backup of 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs. However, one fine day this week, the system seems to work only in adapter mode. Though the charging sign is being shown, the battery is not getting charged. Advice please. Is it time to replace my battery or is there any other issue i need to be worried about. Doubting as the battery backup was good until a week ago.

Go into setup - F2 at powerup.  Does the AC adapter show up with its power rating, or is it showing 'unknown'? If it's unknown, the battery will not charge.

kindly restart pc and run dell diagnostics to check hardware

normally battery life is 2 years or less then need to replace

kindly purchase from authorize dell supplier.

do acccept kudos and acceptance if okay
