I have DELL Inspiron 15 3542 laptop. From last few days it has become very slow and reinstalled the fresh windows factory version 8.1 pro 64bit. Till last night works fine but now intermittently fails to boot with no boot device found error. I have run the Dell epsa diagnostic and below is the error response :

incorrect status = 32**

No additional sense information

Error Code 2000-0151

Service Tag , BIOS A03

Can you please suggest what is this error and how to fix this?

Welcome to the Dell Community @92rhasnain

If you can make a backup of any data you need?!?!?!

Your HDD is failing.

Thanks for your kind response, already backuped the data. Should I have to replace the SSD? And one thing I have used the Hard Disk Sentinel software to check the SSD health but shows the the 100%. I am not able to figure out. What would you suggest?

@92rhasnain

I use Sentinel to DOD erase our drives.

If SSD then corruption could be causing this.

Out of the thousands of SSD's I have tested only a few have turn out to be bad.

Since you have reinstalled the OS and the problem comes back I would think that the SSD could still be failing???

I am not sure what your next step would be???

I would replace the SSD but I have hundreds to choose from at no cost!!!

If you live ln the US I could ship you one for free to test?!?!?!

Regards,

U2

This system was sold both with 2.5" hard drives and also with 32G SSDs.  If your system has the 32 G SSD, it can't be replaced - it's embedded flash memory soldered to the system board.

If you have a 2.5" drive, any standard SATA SSD will work -- if it has the 32 G eMMC SSD, there's no SATA port;  you'll have to replace the system board.
