It should fit either one -- that said, look around for someone who's succeeded with the model you want to buy and the system you have. They're not universally compatible.
Also bear in mind you cannot boot the system from a drive installed in an optical bay adapter -- you can only use the drive for storage.

That's a 7 mm drive; the DVD drive is likely 12.7 mm in height.
