No after an hour of "Download in progress" I gave up and canceled the process.  It should take an hour to download 11 meg driver.

After the remote session yesterday during which the problem was corrected all is good in the world of my Dell product.  Thank you for your assistance in resolving the problem.

here's the direct link : https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/product-support/product/inspiron-17-7773-2-in-1-laptop/drivers

I am wondering whether turning off Fast Boot in Windows 10 would be remove the problem.

I gave it a try and loaded the update with the fast boot off. It loaded OK. I'll let you know if it works.

Thanks

I am interested to know if that worked.  I've had the exact problem trying to install the "intel chipset driver" on my 7786 for months!!  However EVERY time I tried, the install would complete but upon the reboot it would blue screen! After the "we're collecting information..." screen it would restart normally and SupportAssistant would advise to update again.  The final time I tried to install, it hosed my 7786 to the point of being unbootable.  After using Macrium to install a backup image the computer is working but I am hesitant to reinstall that "update" that support assistant is still nagging about.

Hi Annie

I’m sorry about this

I could see that picture you had shared.

Have you tried to download the driver manually from https://dell.to/2PiC8co?

If you still notice the drivers in the support assist after manually installing them. You could uninstall the support assist completely. Restart your system and reinstall support assist using link shred here https://dell.to/2p2D5eb

Well I opened "Support Assist" tonight and there it was again.  The computer is seems to be operating properly but it is annoying to keep getting this update message. See Picutureupdate.jpg

I've tried this previously and I end up in a perpetual "Download in progress.  I took the following picture an hour after pressing the install button.updateA.jpg
