miracast stopped connecting
After I did a Dell BIOS update for my Inspiron 5570 on Feb.22,2021 I could not CONNECT with my Sony miracast device I use to mirror my desktop to my tv. This device still appears when I PROJECT and search for a wireless device and it says "connecting" but fails. Every diagnostic on the Sony device shows no network problem and I confirmed my laptop is miracast compatible (which I knew because I have used it). I can only think that the Dell bios update caused this. Has anyone else had this problem? If I had another pc that had miracast, I could see if it worked in my network and if it did, that would mean it had to be a problem with my Dell...not the tv, the Sony box, or my wireless router.

I have exactly the same issue with my Inspiron 5482. I've lost this funcionality but I don't know when and what caused it. I excluded issues related with TV, Access Point and Windows System due to on HP laptop everything works fine. Any suggestion Dell or should I never buy your product?

As far as I am concerned, the problem was caused by a Dell BIOS update. I spent way too many hours researching and "testing" to know it was a Dell problem. This was almost a year ago. I borrowed a HP laptop with the same OS (Windows 10) and it worked fine at my house (which eliminated ANY hardware or software possibilities) I even found a post by Dell that admitted that update was causing problems. I contacted Dell and they had no idea what I was talking about, but they would do a remote diagnostic, but my warrantee (support) had expired and for $100, they would try to figure it out. Nuts to that. It was a pain, but I bypassed this by hooking my laptop directly to my tv by placing a HDMI cable from the HDMI port on my laptop to a HDMI port on my tv. Then I used the feature on my laptop to "project" the display on my laptop to the tv. Then anything I saw on the Dell was displayed on the tv. There are several ways to access this feature. The easiest is to press the F8 key and select from the options. Finally, I would test the miracast function after any Dell update and it started working again after a recent Dell update. I have no idea if this "fix" works on your model. I hope this helps you in some way. Feel free to ask me if you are confused by any terms I used or you have a questuon. Good luck.

I thought that upgrade OS from Win10 to Win 11 will resolve issue but unfortunately not. All drivers are up to date as well. I will try to install old drivers to WiFi adapter.
