using netdyn 1200 is slower thanusing internal modem why?

I have a dell inspiron 17r n7110 wind 7 home edition using net dyn 1200 AC version 3. Just got it. It never goes beyond 500kps. Yet using the internal modem(enabled) I can go to 2 or 4 Mbs. THe modem shows 24Mbs rx and tx but the speed tests dont show it? Is it that hte internam modem is not compatible? Helo and thanks

I assume you are actually talking about the Net Dyn WIFI adapter (USB perhaps)? And the internal WIFI adapter gets better speed, but you ask if the internal is not compatible, but the speed of the internal is faster? Could you please clarify your question? So an adapter and not a modem..correct? Your use of terms is confusing the issue. The modem connects to your ISP and your router connects to the modem. In many cases the ISP supplies a modem/router which is a single piece of hardware. And the router is what your computer connects with either via wireless or wired connection.

Yess the wifi adadpter that I used(while disabling the internal modem) was much slower(500kps) in speed than the internal modem. I am using this wifi adapter to piggy back on another computer. It is from my laptop. I wanted to know if there was a software setting I had to do in order to have the wifi adapter(netdyn) go much faster(as verified by speed tests) than just using my regular laptop intel centrino wireless n 1030. In other words the netdyn went slower and I dont know why? Is it some sort of setting to do in windows in order to get this to work or just return it and upgrade the internal wifi card(sorry for confusion i see these terms used together sometimes)

At the Net-Dyn support page there are 3 versions of drivers. Have you tried to install the version of driver that corresponds to the version of adapter you have? Also make sure you are connected to the 5G wireless on your router, assuming you have 5G. And make sure you disable the internal WiFi on your system. Also that is a USB 3.0 adapter so make sure you have it plugged into a USB 3.0 port for fastest operation.
