CloudPools and SyncIQ config
Hi there ...
Can anybody advise me Source Isilon→SyncIQ→DRIsilon→CloudPools can be supported ?
I found the comment
~~~
your datasets grow or change slowly over time -- read: small increments --
then a two-phase (SyncIQ -> CloudPools) approach on a single cluster can be feasible.
~~~
( from Isilon SyncIQ to cloud? )
SO I thought it would be possible . But someone says to me it is not as SyncIQ target is RO ( means cannot create SmartLink) .
Which is true .. ? Anybody has done this configuration ?
thanks

The SyncIQ target is read-only with respect to the user's view and operations.
Yet the cluster still can modify how the data is stored internally,
such as changing the protection level or the node pool via SmartPools;
same goes for cloud-tiering with CloudPools.
Convince yourself with a virtual setup and demo licenses...
Cheers

Thanks Peater !
So that means CloudPool can be used.... As this is internal move ... right ?
Source Isilon→SyncIQ→DRIsilon→CloudPools.
( Can we say this is supported ? )
thanks !

Just that I am non entitled to confirm "supported" status...

It's not a matter of being supported. It does not work. The read-only status of the SyncIQ target breaks the CloudPools archive job in all current versions.

Let me check what I might have overlooked for this.
In addition, does it mean in a FOFB scenario that the
CloudPools policies within SmartPools need to be updated
on the primary and secondary clusters each time a switch is made?
