NTFS Permissions Isilon

Hey all,

We are migrating one of our storages to our new Isilon. while copying all data to Isilon, we get lot of errors :

"ERROR 5 (0x00000005) Copying NTFS Security to Destination File { {Name Of File}} Access Is Denied"

and the NTFS permissions from source directory really don't applied on Isilon.

Im using user with full control on both Isilon and source storage, and still getting this message.

I tried copy manually one file, and the permissions still don't apply in Isilon.

The command I ran : "robocopy source destination /copyall /e /mt:32 /log:c:\temp...."

any ideas ?

Did you ever find a solution for this? We are in the exact same situation. /Mads

If you need remote support will have to call phone support, it isn’t something we can do through the community forums.

I am from the UK, and will reach out the support. I have a question, why I can't copy all types of permission using "EMCopy"? or it is just a feature that I should pay for?

Thanks

we need to copy 2 TB to Isilon, we checked the data after copying 9G and we found that the permissions didn't apply, we tried again and again but no way still the same and finally we tried this guy "EMCopy" according to a suggestion from an expert and we still have the same issue, can you access my device remotely please and try as the cutover is this weekend.

What country are you in? I can get you the phone number for that country, alternatively you can go to https://dell.to/3qJbutv and get the contact number from there.

Unfortunately nothing new from calling support and I exceeded the deadline with my client  but we have another chance to try again , I think I will give the solution in this post a look , it is too late but it deserves to try

Hello AnderoMarko,

Ok. That is a post that community members have been able to get to work.

Add an account with root access to the Isilon SMB share. Use this account when running Robocopy. We have a scheduled job to launch the copy afterhours:

robocopy source target /mir /copy:datso /w:3 /r:10 /mt:128
