Personally I don't think there is a real large market for one. Why would anyone want a notebook that is almost impossible to carry around for much more money then any desktop and without the option of ever being able to upgrade it. There are 19" notebooks on the market and they are in the 3500-4500 dollar range.

Yeah they have a new name for it. It's called a DESKTOP.

Thank you Ed C, no seriously, I'm sure there's a market for a larger screen notebook. I heard roomers that Dell were trialling one.

The rumor mill says that Dell is among those who will release a 19" notebook.

If the release is to come anytime soon - and Dell doesn't confirm pre-releases - I'd bet it'll show up as the replacement for the XPS M170 first.

I'm holding out for the 42" plasma display model, with the Honda generator in the media bay.

I don't think the market is huge. But there's lot of people who like larger screens and still have a very small computer. Even though it's huge, it's still nice that you can still use it at work, and take it home.
