Hi manoharan250,

Did you make any recent changes to the computer? Also check if USB port has power. (Connect a mouse and check if the light glows on the mouse)

Install the latest chipset and BIOS from the below link. If possible attach a snapshot of the device manager.

Hi harish, It was suddenly not working. I thought it was error in OS(Windows 7), so I reformatted and installed all the updated drivers. I installed the following drivers also. USB Port is having power supply( light glows on the mouse)

Hi,

I also faced the same issue on my dell Inspiron.

The problem is that my USB driver got corrupted somehow and hence my laptop stopped detecting nay USB drive.

I found out that there is a driver that we need to re- install. But then again the problem is

Dell N4010 does not have drivers for Windows 8 :-(

So I needed to install it in compatibility mode.

I made a small article about this issue with snapshots.

This is an external link outside dell forum, I am not sure If I am allowed to do so but I cant write all the steps here:

Another possibility is a failed daughter card. This has turned out to be the case in my wife's N4010. Replacing the card fixed the problem.
