8600 nvidia 5200 display issue

Hi,
I am having dell 8600 with Nvidia 5200 display card (WXGA). My display is horrific. It is too much blurry. I tried installing drivers from Dell, Nvidia nothing helped. I even tried to update BIOS but no help either.
One thing i suspect of is, when i used to install display driver before (after formating of hard drive), in the color options i used to get 16 bit, 32 bit upto 256 bit i guess and now i see only 16 bit and 32 bit.  i even formatted my hard drive and reinstalled software which came along with Laptop but still the resolution is the same.
It is causing too much of problems to my eyes so any help would be very very greately appreciated.

Thanks,
Ramesh.

I too have the 8600 with the nvidea 5200 card, it is aweful for my system as well, which is the reason I am here.  I am an avid gamer and require something of higher quality.  If anyone knows the compatability issues with newer cards that can help with some advice on which one to get to increase my aweful framerate please help.  I literally cannot play Obliv because I had to turn EVERYTHING off and then it still wont work even close to adequately.

ty please help

Hi -  Hope we are on the same boat.

I too have the same problem with Dell 8600 / Nvidia 5200 driver combination, I am getting 'Fuzzy text' display problem after I formatted the Laptop for the some other reasons. I do see only 16 / 32 bit options in the lost for color options selection.

Please let me know if you get any suggestions on this issue.

Thank U -  Raju

LCD's only have 1 resolution that is crisp. All others are blurry. There are other things to do to try and fix this.

Turn off Automatic image sizing and font scaling.

All of these things can make it better OR WORSE
its a subjective thing.
