8600 side-by-side web browsing?

In the Dell catalogue the 8600 is advertised with a 15.4" wide screen that one can view web pages side by side.  Now that I have my 8600 I cannot figure out how to set the side-by-side feature up.  I use MS IExplorer.  Any hints?

..... you open up two webpages in IE and resize them so they are side by side, there is no particular option to set them side by side in IE, you just do it yourself... all Dell were demonstrating by that was that the screen was wide enough to do it very well, not that it was a function of the software.

Try using Mozilla.  It has that feature built-in.

www.mozilla.org

install it at it will work better than the IE that you have from MS.

Hope this helps.

The Taskbar is where the headers for all of your open programs and internet pages are located.  You can right click anywhere on the Taskbar, except the headers, themselves, so that you you can get the tile menu.

Actually, it's not an Internet Explorer feature, it's part of Windows itself.  Open two windows, like IE and IE or, I find that IE and Ms Word are useful.  Hold down the Ctrl key and click the programs header on the taskbar so they're both selected, right click on one of them and select Tile Windows Vertically or Horizontally.  I've got the WSXGA display and it shows 2 800px webpages completely.

The easiest way to do side by side browsing is by right clicking on the Taskbar and clicking on "Tile Windows Vertically."

http://www.avantbrowser.com - great browser, uses IE to display pages so it doesnt' mess them up like mozilla/opera :p
I reccomend changing some settings such as turning off the tray icon, making everything open in new windows, etc.

Wow, pretty cool.  Total information overload for me, started getting seasick trying to keep track of each window.  Best to put me in front of an IBM XT so as not to startle me.

Blah, just use Firebird's (or Mozilla's) tabbed browsing. Faster and less resource intensive than side-by-side browsing.

Tabbed browsing is excellent on Mozilla's Firebird browser.  I especially love saving a set of web pages as a single favorites.  This is especially useful if you would like to open up all of your tech sites with a single click, or if you would like to open up all of your price search engines the same way, or any other sets of sites you view regularly.  I absolutely love it.

Good suggestion about the "Tile Vertically". I use to manually move each window so that they fit properly. But this feature would be very useful and it is at a very convenient place.
