9200 case/bag help!!!!

I may be in the wrong place, but, here goes:

I have the Inspiron 9200. I need a case/bag and after buying and returning 2 cases that "are suitable for 17" screens", that were too small, I could do with some advice - which ones on the Dell site (UK pref.) are suitable?

Also, when I got the laptop, I didn't recieve any win xp discs - is that correct?

Oh, and why can we not buy the snap on covers in the Dell UK shop!!!!!

Yup, Im English, but dont hold it against me!!

Hey! I am from the UK too and I bought a 9200 a couple of months ago and had a real hard time finding the right case for it. I didn't try any of the ones from dell coz I didn't think any of them were big enough. But after about a couple of weeks of looking around, I found a case that would fit the 9200 snugly from Dixons XL in Birmingham's Bull Ring. I don't remember the exact details of the case because I threw all the labels and tags into recycling but it is made by a company called dicota.

I got told that WHSmith [only the large stores] also do cases that size but in backpack form.

Hope this helps!

Oh and about the CD, I didn't get any Windows XP CDs with my 9200 either.  They have the installation files stored on a hidden partition on the hardrive for when you need to reinstall.  But apparently, you can get hold of the CDs if you call them.  Check this thread out for more details.

About snap on covers, yes you can buy them over the phone from Dell.  I bought mine after I ordered the laptop and I had to insist that snap-on covers are advertised on their website and just kept getting passed on from department to department.  It seemed that half their staff didn't even know what snap on covers were.  But if you insist that it exists and is advertised on their website, hopefully you should be able to get one.

All the best and let us know how it goes.

Dell has stopped providing OEM disks with new computers --- i know -- i hate it too --- but thus is life.

Thanks for all your advice - I'm a step closer to fully accessorising my 9200!

Not good about the discs though - when you pay over £1000 for a laptop, I think Dell could supply the discs with it!

I love my 9200 though, so that makes up for any grumbles!!

Thanks again - I know where to come for help in the future!!!

Hi, Dicota do a whole range of bags upto 20" size. For 17" try the Bacpac Mission XL, The TopTraveller Select or the MultiExten. ALl can be seen at www.dicota.com
