AC power adaptor type cannot be determined
Hi, i have an M1710, and when i turned on my lap, i have this message:
"AC power adpator type cannot be determined. System can only boot with a 130w adaptaer or greater. Strike F1 to shutdown. To resolve this issue try to reseat the power adpater"
I'm using the original power adapter (the original, SO, and everything), I have already plugged/unplugged the adapter and the problem continues. So for booting i need to unplug the power adapter. When the system boots, and i plug the AC, it says that "battery wont be charged and system will be slow"
What can i do?
i only have like 20% of the battery and i if shutdown the laptop i may not be able to turn in on again....

When I turn my computer on with the AC Adapter plugged in, it says, "AC power adapter type cannot be determined. System can only boot with a 130w adapter or greater. Strike F1 to shutdown." Well, I have an Inspiron Gen2 and I did replace my old AC adapter recently but I replaced it with the same one as the old one(PA-13). The adapter spec also match the specs underneath the laptop.
I have a found a work around for this problem, I would just rather have an actual solution. If I boot the laptop without it being plugged in, it boots just fine. Once windows begins to load, I just plug the thing in. It says that it won't charge but it does charge and it gets power just fine.
I just want my laptop to boot without having to unplug it and plug it back in, though.
