AD211 Bluetooth Speaker auto-dials following pairing with smartphone

I just purchased the  AD211 Bluetooth Speaker.   When I pair with my smartphone it automatically places a call to the last number dialed.  I have deleted and re-installed and the problem continues.

I have paired this phone with numerous other  hands-free Bluetooth systems without any problem.

I think the speaker is fine otherwise BUT this is a showstopper problem for me and I will be returning this to DELL if I can't find a resolution.
