Adding HI-SPEED USB host controller, if you already have a USB 2.0 ??
Hi,
I get the message "The USB mass storage device will function at reduced speed. You must add a Hi-speed USB host controller to this computer to obtain maximum performance". I've read another post on this topic where Stephen recommended to purchase a USB 2.0 controller card. But I know that my Evo N800v already has a USB 2.0 installed as I've been using it when I had Windows 2000 installed on it. But since I have installed Windows XP Pro I'm getting this message & transfers to & from the external HDD takes 5-10 times longer. Later in the same post voodoo_jrm suggested installing SP1. But I've already installed SP2 and still experiencing this problem.
Please help me here as it is so irritating to wait, wait & wait while transferring files!
Thanks.
Tariq

The problem is solved. Apparently windows couldn't upgrade the USB drivers while being upgraded to SP1 or SP2. For those who might face the same problem.
Just remove all of the USB devices from your system (Control panel - System - Hardware - Device manager : expand Universal Serial Bus Controllers then right click on each & uninstall). Now reboot your computer and it will install the right drivers itself. To confirm, go back to Device manager and expand USB controllers. You should see word "enhanced" there.
