Adding RAM to Inspiron 8600

I have an Inspiron 8600 with 512 MB of RAM.  I would like to upgrade to 2 GB.  Dell's so-called "Service Department" told me to buy two 1 GB chips, remove the old 512 MB chip, and install the two new 1 GB chips.  They also told me that I would have to pay extra if I wanted Dell to tell me how to remove the old chip and install the new ones.  Can anyone out there tell me exactly how to do this?

When working with RAM be sure to be properly grounded with a wrist strap. At the very least, I touch a lamp's metal body.

Under the system you'll see a door marked "M".  Remove it  and the modules are right there.

BEFORE you do this, unplug the system and REMOVE THE BATTERY.  Then replace the modules.
