Adding a second monitor to a Dell Inspiron 9300 Using Windows XP

Where can I find information about on adding a second montior to my Inspiron?  I am not sure if I should load the drivers for the second monitor or just use the drivers from the monitor?

Monitors typically don't require drivers, regardless of what disks Dell decides to provide for you.  Simply plug the second monitor into the back of the laptop and do the following to extend your desktop.

-Right click on your desktop where there are no icons the choose "properties" in xp or "personlize" in Vista.
-Click on the Settings tab at the top right corner in xp or (display properties in Vista).
-There should be a window at the top that shows monitors 1 and 2.  Click on Monitor 2
-When monitor 2 is highlighted, put a check in the box marked "extend my windows destop onto this device".
-Adjust the slider bar for the resolution you want to use (try 1024X768) for the first run if you aren't sure.
-Click ok to make it all happen.
