Alienware M17x R4 ~ HDMI Input not working correctly

 The HDMI input on my laptop is acting kind of odd, im attempting to use it to connect my xbox to my laptop.  The laptop detects the connection and displays it for about 1-2 seconds then the screen will go black.  If i disable the HDMI input via Function + F8 then enable it again it does the same thing.  I have found some info about some others having this same problem, but i havnt found anything that seems to work yet. Anyone have any ideas or had this same problem?

I have the 3d Vision pack and the gtx 680m for a gpu, i have heard this seems effect the 3d vision users.
