We've had the same problems with our B130.  5 months after purchase we got a message that the battery was nearing the end of it's life.  It will only hold a charge for about 20 minutes tops and the battery light flashes continuously.  I'm calling Dell today to demand a replacement.

I am having the same problem with my B130.  Did you get your problem resolved?

Yes.  I called tell tech support and they ran a "battery" of tests, then finally agreed that I should get a new battery.  They sent it out and we had it in 2 days.

well a new one is on its way to me.
i noticed that after i let the battery charge from 0-100 (which seemed to take forever!), the systray icon disappeared then the icon appeared saying i was running on ac power...and when i unplugged the cord from the back the laptop was running on the battery. i would still love to know how the battery got drained when i used the laptop on battery power once or twice (6 months ago when i got it). nothing but ac power since then and i don't even use the laptop all that much.

was that kind of like your situation c???

That is the exact problem I was/am having.  I finally called Dell today and they are sending me a new battery.  I'm so glad that I wasn't the only one with this problem.  I probably would have just figured it was something I was doing.  Thanks for your posts guys!

I had the same problem as well and I have been on AC power for some time now, its only 8 mths old.... I contacted dell support many many times, everytime they asked me to do the same troubleshoot... everytime the software said its in working condition... my fully charged battery only last for an hour 30 mminutes when i first got it now only last an hour. I have been on Dell's tail ever since and after six month, today they finally agreed to replace it, lets hope the new one works better... has anyone ever time how much time a fully charged battery last? I only get about an hour with normal low usage, just surfing the net and no access to dvd and max power scheme setting. I was told a new fully charged battery should last for at least 2 to 3 hours, has anyone's battery ever perform at that spec? will let you all know once I have receive and tested the new battery in a couple of days. Oh! I have been trying to look for an answer for the correlation between WH (Watt hours) and the time (how long) a bettery will perform under nornal condition, if you know of such answer, pls let me know, thanks.

I have had the same problem. Good luck with Dell Service. This is my daughter's 'college' laptop, and college is 6,000 miles away. The B130 will also die (not turn on even under wall power). I emailed Dell for help and did not receive an answer for 5 days. Then they only answered one of my questions. Now nothing. She says the battery still lasts only 5 minutes.
Just had another problem with a customer trying to use Dell service. I do computer service at nights and on weekends. I have previously recommended Dells to customers and I bought this laptop from Dell for my daughter. I don't think I can still recommend them.
Hopefully we can get this fixed when she gets home?
Forgot to say - Battery problems started when the B130 was less than 3 months old.

I have had the same problem only I just discoverd it one month after the 1 year warranty was up...because I haven't used the battery in about 4 months. I just figure it was an isolated case of a bad battery but this appears to be a pattern for this system. A new one costs $130, about 1/4 of the cost of my system. But why would I buy another  battery for that price that frequently appears to die or not hold a charge after a few months. I think this should be a battery recal or at least some evidence from Dell that the battery is now fixed...or is it the B!30 causing the problem? Dell what's up, this could lead to legal action if they know ther's a problem and don't do anything aobut it.
