Sure -- if the system is under warranty. If it is not, as with anything else, replacement will be at your expense.

Very rarely - on notebooks - are there jumpers.  And yes, some manufacturers provide such a bypass other ways, which effectively renders the password useless in the first place.

There is no jumper on the board.  If the master password doesn't work, replace the mainboard.

There's no "code/number".  What are you looking for?

If the system has a password on it you've forgotten, you must call Dell.

What is the problem you're trying to solve?   Is the system registered to you and is it under warranty or out of warranty?

You're not going to find a pre-flashed chip available - you will need to remove the chip, have it flashed externally in an EEPROM writer, and then re-solder it.

If it's just a password issue, call the out of warranty number (yes, there is a charge for the call) and they'll assist you.

Look for the chip marked 24C04 or 24C05 on the mainboard.
