BIOS password not working
I am the original owner of the XPS laptop. I had set and, for some weeks, used a BIOS password.
Now when booting the password is not requested. (I can't associate any new software loading with the change in the BIOS password.)
F2 / F12 show that the password is set and the options to reset the password are greyed out.
How can I re activate the BIOS password please?

Is this an administrator password you had, or a power-on password. It sounds like it's the former-- not the latter.

The administrator password isn't used or needed on bootup - that's the power on password. The admin password is used only to make changes to the BIOS setup.
