The system should be able to take a backlit keyboard.  Do you have Dell Quickset loaded?

Hello ErikGr,

Dell Latitude E6430 does supports back-lit keyboard. Hence if you want to upgrade the keyboard to a back-lit keyboard, please you may contact our Spare Parts and order the back-lit keyboard for your system (Part # JD6K8). Contact number for Dell Spare Parts sales team # 1-800-357-3355 (US Customers only).

I didn't find it on my system. I didn't see it on the available downloads when I ran my system tag through the Dell downloads.

Thanks for the reply AllanD, I did contact Dell and ordered the keyboard after they confirmed it would work with my system. I am still have issues getting the keyboard to work. Last night when I looked for help via Dell Chat, I was informed it would not work. This is after I talked to Dell Tech Support and was told it was compatible with my system. Just hoping to find a solution.

Thanks for your reply. I did get the keyboard working. I unistalled and reinstalled the Dell application software and the keyboard worked.
