I have the inspiron 7520. I recently only noticed that the backlit keyboard does not fully dim even when I press the Fn+F6 button combination "twice". Is it normal?
I already have the latest version (A11). Actually, I was having problems with my touchpad. It was not responding. I tried reinstalling elan touchpad , system restore and everything I can think of. But nothing worked. So I did an install of the same BIOS(A11), over the already installed BIOS (what will it be called, an overwrite install?). Can this be the cause of the problem?

Hi,
Pressing Fn+F6 is supposed to switch off the backlight totally.
Is the light lit only in some areas of the keyboard or only near "Caps lock" and Number pad?

Can you try updating the BIOS to the latest version if there is one, www.dell.com/support

Hi,
I doubt flashing the BIOS with the same version would have created any issues like this.
You may try reseating the keyboard if you're comfortable ,Else we need to replace the keyboard as this doesn't appear to be a software issue.
If you have backed up the data from the laptop, There is no harm in trying factory reset which will assure us software is fine.

Thanks, but I'll keep it the way it is till I need to go to a service centre for any major problem.
