Backslash not working

Latitude XT with belgian keyboard layout and vista 32 bit.

The key with the 'backslash', 'less than' and 'greater than', situated next to the left shift is not working. Tried belgian comma, and belgian point layouts with no success

I now it's not a hardware failure, as the hardware test on the utility boot seems to be OK, although there is no belgian KB layout to perform the test, at least the key itself reacts when pressed. When googling for the problem I've noticed some identical problerms, but nowhere a solution for this...

Anyone a suggestion? It's quite annoying as it's impossible to type network paths with this machine...

Hi,

Just tested the button and the < and > doesn't work. So the complete button is broken. The rest of the problems are xp related i think. All the drivers are installed ....

Did you test using the test routine on the utility partition? (F12 on boot) ?

I have the factory installed Vista on it, with practically no other soft (except office 2007)

I suppose your other problems are related to XP not having the correct drivers?

Took the risk and installed last week-end.

It seems there is an error somewhere in the default image that comes with the machine....
