Battery Diagnostic Lights
The diagnostic lights on one of the batteries from my Inspiron 8200 are acting strange.
When I press and hold the button on the battery, the 1st, 3rd, and 5th lights blink green three times, then all 5 lights flash green, and then as I continue to hold, all the lights stay off.
When I insert the battery into the laptop, I get 4 fast orange flashes followed by a longer green flash on the laptop battery indicator.
According to the indicators, at least, the battery seems to still charge and function, but I haven't performed extensive testing to see how well.
Any solid information on what the indicator lights mean? Is there a manual where I can read about the specific meaning of the indicator lights (I don't think there's anything so specific in the owner's manual).

I have an Inspiron 5100 and am having the same problem as the user with the 1100--
We are, I believe, speaking of the indicator lights across the front of the laptop. My battery charge light also blinks yellow four times then a single longer green.
Oddly, nothing seems to be affected at this point, but I'm worried about other problems popping up soon because of this.
Any thoughts?

Mine just started doing the same thing. I have a Inspiron 1100 also. A Shame to everything seems to be working just fine, but these lights blinking are drink me nuts. Any idea's Dell?????????
