Thank you for your comment. I located a Dell Bios update disc that I saved that updated the Bios to A24. Once I updated the Bios to A24, I was able to use the Bios update from Dell to update the Bios to A32. It appears that the A32 Bios update from Dell would not allow me to directly update from A04 to A32.
:^/ It seems that you're doing the proceedure correctly, except that you're using the wrong BIOS file. Make sure that you have the one meant for exactly the same model of computer that you have. Check the download section for your model. You can also select by your Service Tag, which will narrow down the choices to exactly those meant for your individual laptop.
