Blank Screen after Dell Logo
Apparently this has been a popular issue - though I haven't seen any recent posts or solutions, so I thought I'd post as I just encountered the issue.
When booting up, my Dell Inspiron 5720 flashes the Dell Logo, then goes to a black screen. If I hold CTL+ALT+DELETE for a few seconds, it continues the boot up properly. Or, I can wait a few seconds, hit a key, then it goes to a loading bar that doesn't load. If I TAP... CTL+ALT+DELETE at this point, it boots up naturally. But the frozen screen at the beginning happens every time.
Is there a Windows Update that caused this? Or a BIOS problem/update? I've seen these as potential solutions...but nothing concrete.
Thanks,
- Dan

Hello Dan,
I would suggest a couple of steps which would help us to isolate the issue. Please try the following steps:
Disconnect all the external peripherals from the computer including the battery and the ac adapter and release the flea power by pressing and holding the power button for 5 to 10 seconds. Turn on the computer and check.
It runs the test on the hardware components of the computer. Run the test and check if it gives any error code. Note down the error code and update me with the same, would let you know the next course of action.
Please try the steps and write back with your findings.
