Blank screen after windows 10 update

I just updated my Inspiron N5050 to Windows 10.  Everything was working fine before I did this...  Now when turn on the computer it starts boot up and then goes blank.  I'm on my I-pad now and have been reading lots of different troubleshooting forums and it lookslike lots of people have had the same problem, however I haven't found a solution yet.  I don't have access to an external monitor.  Is there any other way to resolve this problem?
