Blue screen 0x0000007E

My customer installed AVG updates and the system blue screened with the error code 0x0000007E and Windows will not start normally or safe mode and will not recover to last known. Is there a test I can use or a way to get to C prompt to run chkdsk,?

NO internal cd drive have to wait on cx to bring it over but will try thank you. I also noticed the Latitude doesn't have on board diag. using Fn power buttons. wow.

Boot from the Windows CD and you can get to a command prompt.  I'd also suggest running a full hard drive diagnostic (F12 at powerup).
