C-drive vs D-drive

My hard drive is divided into two partitions.  I have 58.5 GB on my C-drive (which is about full) and I have 164 GB on my D-drive which is almost empty.  Is there an easy way to put these two drives back together?  It came from Dell that way! Will I need to re-install my OS? I am running windows 7 Home edition premium addition.

Hi martyschroder,

There wouldn’t be a simple way through Windows to get those partitions fully merged but there are a few third party software’s available that might be able to help you out. Check out the following discussion on a Microsoft Technet forum. This user had the same question and was able to resolve simply by running partition merging software.

How to merge partitions in Windows 7

I would personally recommend backing up any important data before attempting any changes like this to your drives partitioning.

Let us know how it goes,

Thanks
