C610, XP Prof. doesn't recognize Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG mini-pci card

Hello, I have a Latitude C610, Windows XP Professional. It came with a B speed pcmia wireless card that works fine. I have a new Intel Pro/Wireless 2200BG mini-pci wifi card I got off ebay. It has the Dell stickers and Dell cd with drivers and software. The laptop recognizes the fact that there is a new network card but doesn't recognize the 2200BG card. I downloaded the latest drivers for the card from Dell, and get the response that there is no supported installed card. It sounds like the card I ordered is not what it is labeled as. The bios on the laptop is A16, which appears to be the most recent. Any ideas?
