C840 and C/Port II Audio Problem

I recently reformatted my machine and restored it to the original configuration and also performed all the BIOS updates on it.  I'm running XP SP2.

After the format, I could not get the audio to work out of the C/Port II.  When docked, the computer will play sounds from its internal speakers or the internal headphone jack.  If you plug headphones/speakers into the C/Port - nothing happens, sound will still come out of the laptop internal speakers.  I've searched through the forums, but really haven't found a solution.  Any ideas?

I'm with you buddy.  I have a C800 with XP SP1 and had the same thing just happen.  The audio won't go thru the C/Port II, but rather stays with the laptop's audio system.  I'll be interested to see what help were are able to receive.  Thanks for writing.

Good news, I discovered that reinstalling the audio driver from the following link cleared my problem up.  I'm unsure if it will work with the C840, but I think it's worth a try:
