Great :emotion-21: the two are the same driver just bundled slightly differently; the first one was "Hard-Drive format" and the second one was "Update Package for Microsoft Windows". Both should work the same however I generally prefer hard drive format:

http://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER01706440M/1/Audio_Driver_8F9KD_WN_6.0.1.7023_A00.EXE - Update Package for Microsoft Windows

http://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER01702753M/2/Audio_Realtek_W8.14_X01_A00_Setup-8F9KD_ZPE.exe - Hard Drive Format

Again try both versions of the driver for the card reader and let me know the results:

http://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER01692810M/1/Chipset_Driver_7HRCT_WN_6.2.9200.39050_A00.EXE - Hard Drive Format

http://ftp.dell.com/FOLDER01687929M/2/Card%20Reader_Realtek_W8.14_X01_A00_Setup-7HRCT_ZPE.exe - Update Package for Microsoft Windows

Hello. I have seen your other thread where you discussed this with Manshu S.

What items are listed in your Device Manager, under "Sound, video & game controllers"? (Type device manager in your search box.)

Here is an example screen shot:

You already installed the Intel Chipset software that Manshu S linked to, right?

Right click on High Definition Audio Device and "Uninstall", but do not check the box to delete the files. See if you can now install the Realtek driver without first re-starting the laptop.

If that doesn't work then try this. Right click on High Definition Audio Device and "Update driver software". Don't let Windows automatically do it. Instead, browse to the folder where the Realtek driver was unpacked after downloading, and point to the WDM subfolder.  c:\dell\drivers\xxxxxx\WDM

If neither of those tricks work let me know and I'll get a Windows installation expert to look into this.

First of all version of Windows e.g. Windows 8.1 64 Bit or Windows 7 64 Bit?

Secondly can you provide the hardware IDs and driver version of all your audio devices, see the instructions here:

Okay in that case the "hard drive" format works and Dell have broken something in the "Update Package for Microsoft Windows" installer.

Hence as I said I usually prefer the hard drive format.
