Can't view in full screen

Hi

When I'm watching a video on a website such as Youtube, GoogleVideo etc. I have suddenly found that I cannot view in full screen.

I can only view videos in the little box on the website.

If I click to see the video in full screen, then the screen goes black, or black and white seperated by a line diagonally from one corner to another.

I've never had this problem before, this has alwasy worked fine without any
problems.

I can watch videos online without any problem, unless I want to see them on the whole screen. And I can watch Videos on RealAudio or MediaPlayer.

I have tried deleting temp files, uninstalling unecessary software, resetting IE7 to default, nothing works.

Could anyone help with this.

Thanks

The reason to this is that you have installed a new graphics driver for Intel X3100 via automatic updates. This is a known issue with the latest driver and what Dell has done is to package the latest driver without even testing it. I think if you will go back to the previous driver, it would solve your problem. The new driver has a few good features like Hardware T&L but what good is that when you cannot watch videos full screen. Basically, intel is very poor when it comes to graphics as they have still not been able to release a fully functional driver for the X3100 even after a year.

Thanks for the info

How do I re-install the old driver?

Thanks

What you need to do is go into device manager and remove or rollback the current driver for the graphics card then providing you have the orignal drivers disks you should be able to reinstall the original driver and all should be well

If you could roll back the driver then that would be very nice but I was not able to do so, so what I did was to download the previous version of the driver from the video driver page at the Dell Downloads (thankfully they still have previous versions) and it worked for me.

ONe more thing..

How do I tell which driver to download off the Dell site.

There are 14 video drivers there.

The one in my PC at the moment is ATI Radeon HD 2400, but I assume that's the wrong one.

So how can I tell which is the right one?

Thanks

I think your graphics card is different. Please download the one earlier than the version that you have now, i.e. released at the date closest to the one you have now. I hope this works. :)
