Cannot enter UEFI boot mode, Precision M6400

Question

Hi, I have a M6400 machine and am trying to install win8 using UEFI. But i could not enter the 'UEFI' boot mode. I have looked through all BIOS configuration items, and could not find anything related to 'secure boot' or 'UEFI' selection. I tried both the latest BOIS version A11 and A13, but didn't see any change. Looking for advice, thanks a lot.

The system does not have a UEFI boot loader - it is a BIOS-only system. You cannot use secure boot on this model.  You can install Windows 8 in MBR mode, though.

thanks for that. Yes i am running legacy mode. It is disappointing that workstation is a really nice machine, but doesn't come with any uefi firmware.
