The switch on the right side (closest to the front) is for turning on the wifi. Should be slid to the back for ON, but check the markings; I is on, O is off.
Do you have the wifi synbol in the Notification area? If so, you may need to manually reconnect to your router.
Your wireless portion of your router may also have failed. See if you can connect with another laptop.

the wirless card could have gone bad but thats just a guess.
