Changing refresh rate for a performance increase?

Question

I know the 5150 only has a 60hz screen but with modded drivers the screen can be changed 75hz or 80hz- would it hurt or help or do nothing?

I can't amagine it hurting anything. But it would only make your graphics card work harder cause your LCD screen in your laptop can only handle 60Hz and that's something only hardware could fix(i.e. new LCD)!!!

A standard LCD has a refresh of 60Hz, and cannot be changed.

Changing the refresh rate on a digital screen (such as your laptop screen) has no effect.
