Cleaning the shell of a Latitude 2120?

One of our students used ballpoint pen to write on the rubberized shell of his Latitude 2120. The penmarks have gotten into the small rubber squares, and is proving difficult to remove!

I'd like to remove the pen-marks entirely, and have tried the Dell-recommended method of 'wet cloth with no chemicals'. I've also tried using a toothbrush, dish detergent, and toothpaste, all without success.

Any suggestions and/or success with cleaning the rubberized shell?

Thanks for any and all responses.

I do actually know the place.  Just could never afford to live there.

Use care as Goo Gone is extremely flammable and of course toxic so you should not make lemonade from it.

Yes, Northwest SK. You know the place?

Thanks for the help... I'll pick up some "Goo Gone" and try it!

SpiritWood, North/Central Saskatchewan, Canada?

I would test an area using Goof Off or Goo Gone on a cotton swab.
