DBX files are created and used by Outlook Express - not Outlook.
You can set up Outlook Express and copy these files back to the location where it keeps its data files (that location depends on the version of Windows and Outlook Express you're using).
Just a thought we could well have been on Outlook Express before we got the new Laptop and if it has gone back to factory settings perhaps that is why they are DBX? can DBX be converted to Windows Mail?
Thanks for the response. I use Windows Mail and the files in my backup drive are DBX. I have Windows Vista. Are you able to tell me how to copy them back to Windows Mail box from the DBX files saved on my hardrive please?
