Hi Free-Spirit,

It is true. You can use the F8 key to restore the computer to factory settings. Please refer to the link for more information Here.

It is always advisable to create Recovery disc. In case the Recovery Partition doesn't work, you can always use the Recovery Disc to restore your computer to factory settings. Please refer to the link Here.

Hi ... those directions are for a windows 8 PC.  I am running windows 7 Home Premium.  Are there any directions for that Operating System?

Though, there isn't much difference between Windows 7 and Windows 8. The only manual available for Windows 7 is Quick Start Guide.
