Crystal CS4205 drivers are missing vital file

Version A09 of the CS4205 drivers on the Dell web site are missing a vital file.

cwawdm.sys is present in all previous versions but missing in A09, and due to this the user is prompted for the path to the file.

File name is C5mua09i.exe

WDM drivers are for WIN98SE/ME/2000/XP.

If you are using NON WIN98SE or WIN95 you cannot use these drivers.

WIN98 non SE needs WIN95 VXD drivers instead of WDM Drivers.

I am using Windows XP, and the same problem happens on Windows 2000.

I was just posting to inform Dell the file is missing a component.

My audio drivers are working fine.

Actually driver not found can be several things including not being able to find the XP cd and or security settings.

Installing as local administrator I have no issues.

You will get  the issue where you run the setup.exe for the  onboard audio and it goes through the whole install and then says "drivers not found" at the end.
1) Get the latest drivers. The installer won't work and you'll get the "drivers not found" error. When you run the install, pay attention to where it unzips the files. The default is C:\DELL\DRIVERS

2) Go into device manager and uninstall the non-functioning sound card, multimedia device, etc.

3) Restart. When it tries to auto install new devices it detects, hit cancel. Go to control panel -> Add Hardware. If it says you can only install one device at a time then you have to cancel the other devices it is trying to auto install.

4) When you run the new hardware wizard, select "install from a list or specific location" when prompted.

5) At the next screen choose "Don't search. I will choose the driver to install"

6) At the next screen choose "Sound Video or Game Controllers"

7) When presented with a list of sound devices, Click the "Have Disk" button. When the next prompt comes up, click "Browse."

8) Point to the Audio driver in the Dell directory.
