Cursor Disappears While Typing

Hello,

We are on our second Inspiron 8600 within a month. We returned the first one as tech support thought it had a wiring problem, most likely in the palm rest. The new one we received has the exact same problem. Tech support has been unable to figure it out after a number of calls.  While typing the cursor will, for no reason, disappear from the page. You then need to replace it with the mouse before you can continue typing.

This happens frequently and needless to say is very annoying as we use this computer for business purposes. Is it likely that two new 8600's in a row would have the same wiring problem?

Has anyone run into this before? Any solutions or ideas?

Thanks,
Lauran

Try turning the option off.  It sounds like you have the "Hide pointer while typing" option turned on.

Go to the Control Panel and double click on your Mouse icon.

The go to the "Pointer Options" tab.  Uncheck "Hide pointer while typing".

This should take care of your issue.
