D600 - External ISDN USB Modem BSOD when installing NDIS Wan Miniport Driver.

Hi,

I've been trying to install a Conceptronic (www.conceptronic.net) external 128k ISDN USB modem on a Latitude D600, unfortunately when the installation reaches the stage where it installs the NDIS Wan Miniport Driver is Blue Screens everytime, I've tried installing the modem on my Dimension desktop and on other laptops and there hasn't been a problem. I've tried disabling the other Network Adapters and that makes no difference at all.

Using WinXP Pro by the way, any help much appreciated,

cheers,

Stephen

I have the same problem with a Hayes USB ISDN TA; had any luck with this?

edit: Have just spoken with a Dell tech who shall remain nameless. I explained the problem, noting that other people were posting similar issues with different brands of ISDN adapter here, and his response was that if other USB devices worked on the machine, even if the TA worked fine on other machines then Dell would not spend any time on diagnosing or fixing whatever was causing the issue. On the other hand, a reply from Hayes tech support indicates that the problem may well be that the machine simply doesn't provide enough power to the USB ports to run the TA, and that a powered USB hub may be required to use the device. Don't know if that's any help.
