D600 Power Jack issue
I am using a Latitude D600, and I think my power jack is the cause of my problems, but this was a gift and I am sure dell is not gonna go out of their way to honer the original warranty. I know it is not the motherboard because if I happen to have a charged battery it will power-up just fine and work with no problems at all, but now that battery is dead and all I get is 5 seconds of power-up, with orange battery light, and then back to an off state. So, what are my options at this point? Thanks to all who reply.
Additional:
I read on various forums that I might be able to use a port replicator for my D600 as the new power jack. Is this true? Can I really just stick it in this and run and charge my laptop with this? Is it big, can I still maintain relative portability(not that big an issue by the way).

I just got the port replicator today and guess what, the laptop now works like it used to. It powers and charges the battery and system, also got a new battery, how long should a new, but dead, battery take to charge up the first time?

It sticks onto the back and has it's own ports , usb, and power jack. It saved me from any soldering, which I stink at.
