D630 Audio Problems

When I was running Windows XP my speakers worked great. I upgraded to Windows 7 over the weekend and now have a problem with the Audio. I Only get sound out of one speaker, the 2nd one is dead.  I have uninstalled the driver and then when I reboot, windows 7 finds the new driver and installs.  It says it is working good. Any help on where to find correct driver with instructions on changing to it would be appreciated.

Thank You.

Jeff,

I think it is the Vista audio driver for the D630, Sigmatel R171788. Install it using Vista compatibility mode. Download the driver package using the browser, not Dell Download Manager. Extract the files (unzip or unpack) but cancel the installation process. Go to the hard drive to

c:\Dell\Drivers\R171788

Right click on setup.exe and select Properties. Find the compatibility tab to select  Vista.

if it installs but still only one speaker works then there might be something wrong with the hardware.
