DELL 1150 Video and Windows 7
I upgraded an 1150 to Windows Premium and now the video will only display in 640X480. I can go to 800X600 but only in 256 colors. I attempted to re-install the old driver but windows update just put it bac and a message noted that the card is not WDDM compiiant. I just want it to get to 800X600 with decent colors like it was before. The only resion we upgraded was to get rid of the Vista upgrade that slowed performance. The processor is 2.8 and it have 2 gig of ram. Any help is appriciated.:emotion-39:

Your old laptop is not a good candidate for win 7 and probably shouldn't have had vista installed either. You can't change the video card in your laptop and there are no drivers for Win 7. Your best bet is to reformat the drive and reinstall Windows XP or vista until you can buy a new computer. If you need another set of disks to reinstall XP, order them Here. If you had run the Windows Upgrade Advisor, you would have known the problem before you installed it. Run it now to see if there is an answer or workaround.

I re-installed XP. I did run the upgrade advisor prior to the install. It only recommended that I clean up the hard drive because there was not enough space. Everything is working fine now.
